Buster is performing with the family in Portland, Maine. Also on this date, The New York Dramatic Mirror published this poem in the family's weekly ad:

Says BUSTER to his Father,
"I want to be a man."
Says FATHER to young BUSTER,
"Well, my boy, some day you can."
And when you grow to be a man
and earn a nice good salary,
Then you won't have to quit your job,
if they do smoke in the gallery.
