of any Buster Keaton cinema screenings with live musical accompaniment in your area so we can add them to this Calendar and help promote Buster's films and your theater. Thanks!

October, 2007

Dear readers, we've organized the "Keaton" screenings according to state. If you don't see a screening near you, you can contact one of the musicians listed below, or a film programmer at your local historic movie house, art museum, art institute, public library, or school film/theatre/music dept. - AD

KEATON FANATIC IN
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM

Professional stuntman and Damfino Dino Muccio did stunts for The Bourne Ultimatum and Underdog, films currently in theatres. Dino sends this message:
"Each time I do a stunt, I (at some point in the work) think of
Buster and all the stunts he did over his career, and then I
remember that the Keaton fans of the [International] Buster
Keaton Society
keep him alive for me. I can only imagine what
Buster would have accomplished with the technology of today -
in film AND in stunts!" Congratulations, and thank you, Dino!!
See Dino's photo and complete list of work for film and TV by searching for his name on the website, www.imdb.com.

KEATON - TATI - BEAN!
British physical comedian Rowan Atkinson ("Bean") was inspired by French comedy filmmaker Jacques Tati, who was inspired by Buster Keaton! There are two "Keaton" gags toward the end of Mr. Bean's Holiday (currently in theatres): a filmmaker (in the movie) has his name appear over and over in his opening credits (a la Buster's The Playhouse); and at the end, Mr. Bean walks on a series of suddenly-arriving truck roofs, cars, and an ice chest (a la Sherlock, Jr) to - well, you'll see! -- AD
