2008 INTERNATIONAL
BUSTER KEATON SOCIETY CONVENTION

Fri., Oct 3 program includes the screening,
by filmmaker Paul Gierucki, of an early
version
of one of Buster's silent film classics,
which has not seen by the public since the 1920's.
The title will be revealed at the Convention.
A second rarity will be the only known film that Buster had
complete creative control over since 1928, and which
was part of the 1957 stage production of "Merton at
the Movies."
The production's stage manager, Dale Duffy,
will be our Guest Speaker.

Sat., Oct 4, 8pm - Public screening of The Navigator (1924)
and Battling Butler (1926) with live theatre organ
accompaniment by Dennis Scott at the
Frauenthal Theatre in Muskegon.

Other events include a tour of
Muskegon's Actors' Colony, which was Buster's
only permanent home during his vaudeville years
in his parents' "Three Keatons" stage act;
film historian speakers; a Keaton memorabilia auction;
TV and film screenings; a Speak Easy party; and more.
